Missed your target band in just one section? IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) lets you retake a single skill—Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking—without sitting the whole test again. This guide covers OSR availability, cost and booking for candidates in Cameroon.

How to Book OSR in Cameroon
Log in to the British Council account you used for your original booking and look for a “One Skill Retake” option next to your result.
If no option appears, contact British Council Cameroon (Douala or Yaoundé) directly and ask whether OSR is offered for computer-delivered IELTS at your centre.
If OSR is not yet available locally, your options are a full computer-delivered retake in Cameroon, or booking your next test in a market where OSR is confirmed (for example Nigeria or Ghana) so the option stays open.
Eligibility Reminders
- Your original test must be computer-delivered IELTS (Academic or General Training) — not paper-based, not IELTS Online
- Only one skill, only once per original test
- The retake must be completed within 60 days of the original test date
- You receive a new Test Report Form combining your original three scores with the retake score — and your original TRF stays valid too

Who Accepts OSR Results from Cameroon?
Most Cameroonian IELTS candidates are targeting Canada Express Entry (which needs IELTS General Training converted to CLB levels) or UK study and work routes. IRCC accepts One Skill Retake results for Express Entry, and UKVI accepts OSR for IELTS on computer in selected locations.
Common destinations for Cameroonian candidates: Canada (Express Entry), the UK, and increasingly Germany and Belgium. Always confirm OSR acceptance with your specific university, employer or visa route before booking.
