Strategy
- Read all headings first - there are more headings than paragraphs
- Read the first and last sentence of each paragraph
- Identify the main idea of each paragraph
- Match the main idea to the most suitable heading
- Cross out used headings

Scanning Technique
Purpose: Find specific information quickly

- Look for numbers, dates, names

- Stop when you find the information

- Passage 2 (medium): 18-20 minutes
